Good food & friendly service. Best noodle dishes in the Bay Area. We love Toomie's!Muk & Dave04/30/2007
Consistently the best Thai food we've ever had. We've been going there nearly 2 years now and Toomie's tops every other Thai place around. They bring us our Thai iced tea as soon as they see us come in and the owner has asked our opinion on dishes and really cares about providing his customers with enjoyable food. The thai decor is pleasant, also. The panang curry and cashew nut chicken are our favorite things there, however we also recommend basil stir-fry, glass noodle stir-fry, pad thai, and the 3-flavored fish. Yum. Warren and Leela04/20/2007
Finally went to Toomie's and wish I'd gone sooner. I'd been leaving the island for Thai food, and still being unsatisfied compared to some favorite places elsewhere. No more! The *best* pad thai I've ever had. I see the point of some who don't like it, but I don't care for the overly sweet orange versions found so often in other restaurants. This is rich, smokey, and delicious. Had the 3 flavor fish, the panang curry salmon, the thai egg rolls (and my search for a yummy vegetarian egg roll has finally come to an end!), satay, papaya salad, and pineapple fried rice. It was all just amazing. The only down note to the whole evening was the overwhelming clouds of incense from the store next door. That was kind of a problem, and I believe the proprietors of the adjoining stores should complain to the park street association, because it really is too much. But otherwise? I'll definitely be eating here regularly, with much happiness. Go check it out! bunny   02/03/2007
Very good Tom Kha soups - I add rice to the soup to get that homey comfort food feel. The Tom Kha is on par with Cha Am in Berkeley. The sea bass special is a favorite - but could stand for lightening up on the syrupy sugar content. Noodle dishes are respectable and the mango with sticky rice for dessert is great for closing out a meal. Good Thai food if you don't have time to leave the island. Service has improved from when they opened. I Eat Alameda 12/11/2006
Anyone who doesn’t like the food at Toomies is obviously not a "True" Thai food lover. Maybe they should stick to the T.G.I. Fridays menu? If anyone knows of a better Thai restaurant in the bay area I would like to know, because the drive from San Rafael to Alameda costs more than dinner. Try the Green Curry or the Ginger Chili. Ron 11/30/2006
